Sad News: Long-time Resident Jan McLean has passed away

Long-time Stillmeadow resident Janette Ann (nee Johnson) McLean, of 3718 Thornbrier Way, passed away peacefully on May 11 at the age of 83.

Jan was the beloved wife of the late Walter S. McLean and loving mom to Lauren (Dave) McLean, William McLean, and Kelly (Rob) Cook. She was a proud and fun-loving Grammie to her seven grandchildren: Becky, Katie, Billy, Cameron, Brian, Sierra and Jade, and was the cousin of Dan (Shirley) Kennedy and family.

Please Join us for Clean Sweep Week 2 this Saturday!!

The Second Annual Stillmeadow Clean Sweep had a small but resourceful group of volunteers on April 20. Thanks to Tim Parsons, Al Rugienius, Rosemarie Reilly and Bob & Joey Cucco for picking up trash and packing 20 bags with leaves and yard debris. The efforts from last year were definitely a help to this years clean up efforts. The evidence is quite clear along the safety path between Burning Tree and Holly Lane.

Help Out With Clean Sweep Day 2013!!

Attention All Stillmeadow Residents:

After last years' successful "Clean Sweep Day", we've decided to participate once again this year, this Saturday, April 20th.

We will again be doing work along the safety path (aka the sidewalk) from North of Lasher High School and South to Provencal.  Last year we had 2 different days and collected over 40 bags of compost materials as well as several bags of garbage.

At the annual Stillmeadow Homeowners Association Meeting on February 17, 2013, Bloomfield Township Police Department Community Liaison Officer Pete Matejcik gave a brief presentation about home security measures, including tips on door locks, alarm systems and other security topics.

The BTPD has also provided us with numerous flyers and security tips; you can download these in printable PDF format below.

Finally, Officer Matejcik wanted us to know about several additional online resources:

New Street Sign Options

At the Feb. 17, 2013 meeting we discussed the long-overdue need to replace the 6 aging street signs throughout the subdivision. The current white-letters-on-black-wood signs are falling apart, and the new signs will have to be installed in compliance with Bloomfield Township code, which pretty much means reflective green with white block letterin.

However, we do have several options for the pole design as well as a couple of size options for the actual signs. Various options are displayed below, and will be discussed by the Stillmeadow Association Board at the next meeting.
